London
Transport System
The transport system in London is one the busiest in the world.
There are 3 main forms of transport in London and they are The
Tube, Taxi's and buses of which the tube is the easiest way to get
around London.
The Tube
London tube (underground system) is huge with a total of 273
stations. the system operates a travel service every day except
Christmas day. Trains operate from 5.30 am till midnight. You can
buy single or return tickets for your Journey however if you plan
to use the tube more than twice in a day it would be wise to
consider buying a travelcard (see below).
Buses
Buses can be a lot slower than the tube however it can be a very
enjoyable way to see London. On the modern buses you buy the
ticket of the driver when you get on the bus on the more
traditional routesaver buses you buy your ticket of the conductor,
who will usually come to you. If you want to see London by bus but
don't want to go on an organized trip then catch the number 11 bus
from Chelsea which takes in Westminster, Trafalgar square and St
Paul's Cathedral
London buses
also offer a night service which operates buses on popular routes
between the hours of 11pm and 6am.
