The British
Museum is the oldest public museum in the world established in
1753. There are many treasures of the past to be viewed not least
Egyptian Mummies and even a mummified cat thought o date back to
30BC, and you must see the Elgin Marbles bought to the museum in
1816 from the Parthenon in Athens. The museum is also home to the
Lindow Man the remains of a man 2000 years old found in a peat bog
in Cheshire. |
